He was in the Beta Lambda Sigma Biology Honor Society and won The George Schwartz Prize in Biology both at the University College of Arts and Sciences, New York University (1958-1961). Zinn began his career as a student at New York University, Bronx, NY (1958-1961). He served as Chief Clinical Fellow of the Retina Service, at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Boston, MA (1972-1973) and was a Heed Ophthalmic Fellow, Department of Ophthalmology at the Harvard University Medical School, Boston, MA (1972-1973) as well as a Research Associate, Department of Retina Research at the Retina Foundation, Boston, MA (1972-1973).ĭr. Zinn was a Research Associate and a National Institutes of Health Postdoctoral Fellow with the Department of Corneal Research at the Retina Foundation, Boston, MA (1968-1969). He was also a Board Member of the American Board of Laser Surgery, Trumbull, CT (1987-1990). Zinn is an Emeritus Member of the Retina Society, Boston, MA (1980-present) and Past President of the Ophthalmic Laser Surgical Society, New York, NY (1988-1990). He was Secretary then Chairman, Section on Ophthalmology, New York Academy of Medicne (1985-1988) and he also served as a Trustee of The New York Academy of Medicine (1989-1990). Zinn won the William Warner Hoppin Award, in Ophthalmology, from The New York Academy of Medicine, Manhattan (1971). Zinn also served as a member of the guest faculty at the Harvard University Medical School's Lancaster Postgraduate Course in Ophthalmology, Boston, MA (1970-1990). Zinn is a retired Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in Manhattan (1980-2005), and having been a Consulting Managing Director with HT Capital Advisors, LLC, New York, NY (2006-2008).
